Holy Week 2018

At St.Rita of Cascia we had great Holy Week filled with activities that were well attended by parishioners and guests from other churches.
The Last Supper, the presentation of the blessed oils and all night adoration on Holy Thursday; the Stations of the Cross and the Lord’s Passion on Friday; the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening, where seven members of our community were confirmed or received their first communion.
A blessed week indeed, which reinvigorated our faith.

Come and see this powerful film Wednesday, April 4th at 7:00 p.m. in our church.

Brought to you by the Knights of Columbus.

Watch this story unfold, from an unpretentious Polish nun who experienced powerful visions of a merciful God, to her countryman Saint John Paul II who propelled the message of Divine Mercy onto the world stage, and the Year of Mercy bestowed upon the Church by Pope Francis.

The following Sunday, April 8th, St. Rita’s will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday with the Chaplet at 3:00 p.m . in the church. Confessions will be heard at 2:00 p.m.

Tim Glemkowski, a dynamic national speaker and founder or L’Alto Catholic Institute, a not-for-profit dedicated to renewal in the Church, came to St. Rita January 23rd  to unpack how cultural shifts not just in the last 50 but actually in the last 500 years have led to our increasingly secularizing society.

St. Rita of Cascia celebrates 90th Anniversary

On May 21, 2017 Bishop David Malloy presided at the 10:15 a.m. Mass, a baccalaureate for the parish school’s eight graders and this kicked off the year of celebrations for the parish. We are a very diverse parish with people from different countries such as Poland, Nigeria, Philippines, Vietnam, an all Latin America. Fr. Oscar Cortés said “having a big diversity of cultures is not an obstacle. It is a blessing from God. It is a means to evangelize people. We can show other the real meaning of being the Church of Christ.”
